Ingredients/配料
- 43 g dried upright ladybell roots (also known as dried adenophora stricta or nan sha shen)
- 43 g dried scented solomon's seals (also known as dried polygonatum odoratum or yuzhu)
- 100 g dried pears
- 6 g dried lodoicea (also known as dried sea coconut)
- 400 g lean pork
- 2.8 L water

Preparation/方法
- Rinse dried upright ladybell roots under running water; Soak them in water for 1 hour; Remove and drain them.
- Rinse dried pears under running water; Soak them in water for 30 minutes; Remove them; Rinse them under running water again; Drain them.
- Rinse dried scented Solomon’s seals under running water; Soak them in water for 30 minutes; Remove and drain them.
- Rinse lodoicea under running water; Soak it in water for 30 minutes; Remove and drain it.
- Rinse, drain and slice ginger.
- Rinse lean pork; Pat-dry it with kitchen paper; Cut in into chunks.
- Fill a deep pan with water; Add the ginger; Bring to the boil over a high heat; Scald the lean pork all over in a colander with the boiling ginger water for 3 minutes; Immediately remove and rinse it under running water till cool; Drain it; Turn off the heat.
- Fill a stockpot with 2.8L water; Bring to the boil over a high heat; Add all the ingredients; Bring to the boil over a high heat again; Turn to a low heat; Cover the pot with its lid; Cook over a low heat for 2 hours; Stir seasonings into the soup; Turn off the heat; Arrange the soup in serving bowls; Ready to serve.
